ESIS has be awarded tenure for the former tower site at Columbia (Blue) Point! At last we can begin constructing the tower that will provide service to the south Boswell / Sanca Creek area. It has been a long time coming and we hope to complete this site and have it operational as soon as possible. Our estimated time for the site becoming active is June 1st, 2010. Connecting Citizens Grant Program Award

Great news! The BC Provincial Government has awarded ESIS funding through the Connecting Citizens Grant Program. The funding will enable ESIS to build the infrastructure required to provide high-speed internet service from south Gray Creek to Sanca, completing the work begun in Boswell last year.

Winter's close is drawing nearer and the longer, brighter days and milder temperatures are a welcome change. As spring nears we're gearing up for system upgrades and expansions planned for this year's build season.

ESIS is an incorporated not-for-profit internet society formed with the goal of bringing affordable and reliable high-speed internet service to Crawford Bay and surrounding central Kootenay Lake communities.

Volunteer

ESIS is a not-for-profit community enterprise, and has progressed thanks to the contributions of time and resources by local people who believe in its importance. Literally many thousands of volunteer hours have gone into research, planning, setup and finally, infrastructure development and maintenance.
